Mortise Lock Function F20 and F13

Emtek mortise locks are available in two different function types: F20 and F13. The differences are shown below. If you or your customer HAS concern about the possibly locking themselves out of the home or building, then the F13 may be the best option. Otherwise, the F20 mortise lock function with provide more locking options. You just need to become familiar with the Stop and Release buttons.

F20 FUNCTION (see above image):

F20 MORTISE LOCK INSTALLATION GUIDE

• Deadbolt operated by key outside, thumbturn inside
• When locked outside, latch bolt and deadbolt are operated by key outside
• When deadbolt is engaged, outside thumb press/knob/lever is automatically locked
• Latch bolt retracted by thumb press/knob/lever either side, except when outside thumb press/knob/lever is locked by stop  
  button
• Operating inside knob/lever retracts latch bolt and deadbolt simultaneously with outside thumb press/knob/lever remaining
  locked
• Deadlocking latch bolt
• Deadbolt has saw-proof inserts
• UL Listed Mortise Door Prep ANSI A115.1
• UL180 minute fire rating

F13 MORTISE LOCK INSTALLATION GUIDE

• Deadbolt operated by key outside, thumb turn inside
• When deadbolt is engaged, outside thumb press/knob/lever is automatically locked
• Latch bolt retracted by thumb press/knob/lever either side
• Operating inside knob/lever retracts latch bolt and deadbolt simultaneously, automatically unlocking outside thumb

• Deadbolt has saw-proof inserts
