The design of ''April Flowers'' is adapted from the unpublished ''Bird in the Cage'' cover that Frank Lloyd Wright created for the April 1927 issue of Liberty Magazine. In addition to being a renowned architect, Frank Lloyd Wright was also an accomplished graphic designer who created a series of cover art drawings for the Liberty Magazine (1926-1927) that never made it to print as they were seen as being too daring for the times.
